COVID-19 Coronavirus

3-17-2020 – 11:00am: PMSA’s primary concern is the safety and wellness of our teams, their families, our job sites, and communities. We are taking the proper precautions and implementing guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and other national and local instructions. We currently have no confirmed cases of COVID-19 within our company.

Our office employees, including sales and accounting, will be working remotely until April 7. During this time, we are in active communication to ensure continuity in our business operations.

Employees and vendors are required to alert PMSA if they are infected or exposed to someone who is known to be infected with COVID-19. If an employee calls in sick and indicates they have flu-like symptoms, they will be required to stay home until they are symptom-free and/or see a doctor and get released. We will require positive confirmation that they are healthy before they can return to work. If an employee states that they have the coronavirus or have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19 (coronavirus), we will require them to stay home, contact their local health department, and not return to the work until they are released. We will conduct and investigate to understand the direct contact(s) the infected worker had with other workers and understand the areas that the worker performed work so we can determine potential contamination and apply proper disinfection.

If we have a confirmed case of COVID-19, PMSA will work towards to understand the area(s) that have possible contamination and work with industrial cleaning companies to disinfect the area following CDC recommendations. Depending on the area(s) that may require disinfection, the project may need to be temporarily shut down to allow the proper and safe cleaning operation to disinfect the area(s) of potential contamination.

3-17-2020 – 8:00pm: The current situation with COVID–19 is extremely dynamic. Many of our clients have asked how we will care for our staff while keeping our services active. PMSA is taking preventive measures by reminding our employees and vendors about frequent hand washing, while also instructing our staff on how to regularly clean and disinfect any of our operated parking facilities and equipment. At this time, PMSA expects that all of our contracted services will continue to remain in active status. We will continue to monitor this situation and make proactive decisions which are in care for our clients and staff, all while also doing our part to help stop the spread of the virus.

3-18-2020 – 4:00pm: PMSA recognizes that these are truly uncharted times and our company is learning right alongside our communities how to proactively navigate COVID–19 together. The federal government has called for increased social distancing to help contain the virus and so we are evaluating our current operations daily. Every community’s public health needs are different, so we want to make sure we play a constructive role by taking responsible actions, guided by the CDC and other experts, to continue to do what’s right for our clients, vendors, and employees.

At this time, PMSA has agreed with some of our clients to suspend our operations through 4/30/2020.

This action will result in allowing our employees to no longer report to work and seek assistance through the Employment Development Department (EDD). Employees of PMSA impacted by these suspensions may begin to file a claim for unemployment insurance.

As of this post, PMSA continues to confirm that our company has no cases of COVID-19 within our company. Additional information regarding COVID-19 and how EDD is responding to these sensitive times is available online at EDD’s website by clicking here.

3-19-2020 – 8:15pm: PMSA is fully aware of the “Safer at Home” emergency order, also known as Executive Order N-33-2. Our company aims to take every available measure to cooperate within the guidelines of this order, all while looking out for the safety and wellness of our teams, their families, our job sites, and of course our valued clients.

Clients of PMSA who feel that they may be affected by this order are encouraged to visit the following link: https://corona-virus.la/faq

As of the timing of this post, PMSA continues to confirm that we have no cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus within our company.

3-20-2020 – 10:45pm: On March 19, 2020, CA Governor Newsom issued Executive Order N-33-20 directing all CA residents immediately to heed current State public health directives to stay home, except as needed to maintain continuity of operations of essential critical infrastructure sectors and additional sectors as the State Public Health Officer may designate as critical to protect health and well-being of all Californians.

In accordance with this order, the State Public Health Officer designated a list of “Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers” to help state, local, tribal, and industry partners as they work to protect communities, while ensuring continuity of functions critical to public health and safety, as well as economic and national security.

Based on the language of the Executive Order N-33-20, PMSA is considered as providing “Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers” in “Transportation and Logistics.” Based under the guideline, “employees supporting or enabling transportation functions,” PMSA will allow our services to remain active at some of our job sites.

In regards to our office employees, which include sales and accounting, they will continue to work remotely from their home until April 30, 2020. During this time, our staff will continue to actively remain in communication to ensure continuity in our day-to-day business operations.

As of the timing of this post, we continue to confirm that PMSA currently has no cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus within our company.

4-2-2020 – 5:00pm: Out of respect for the privacy of our employees and also in accordance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines, PMSA has been advised to no longer post that our company does not have cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus. Furthermore, PMSA has been advised to not post and/or announce of any new illness and/or positive employee diagnosis as this may lead to those employees being identified. PMSA does not want our employees to fear that their privacy may be compromised, as this may refrain them from seeking any needed medical care. Our company feels that such a resistance to seek medical care would hinder the ability of public health officials to respond accordingly.

In response to the guidelines recommending the use of masks for certain essential businesses, PMSA is advising our employees to wear non-medical masks as an effort to help them remain healthy while in business. This advice is in addition to them continuing to practice physical distancing while performing their essential activities. PMSA is actively making an effort to provide non-medical masks to our employees.

6-8-2020 – 3:00pm: PMSA is now accepting new work orders and we are restarting existing work orders beginning July 1, 2020. Our turnaround time is currently 5-7 weeks.

5-26-2021 – 8:00pm: PMSA is continuing to accept new work orders with turnaround time approximately 2-3 weeks. Mask Policy: Although local counties are announcing their plans to rescind their Executive Order for the wearing of masks, PMSA will not be following suit for any job sites that decide to lift this mandate. These new orders do NOT prevent “business or other establishments from requiring employees or customers to follow additional hygiene measures including the wearing of a face covering.” Until additional guidance is received from the CDC, face masks are still required to be worn at our job sites at all times. We will continue to monitor guidelines from the CDC, WHO, and other guiding organizations and will update our standards accordingly.
